Women's Self Defense

WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE PROGRAM

The women's self defense program offers three different courses.
Basic one, Intermediate and Advanced.

The basic program is 10 hours with an intense four hours of structured training that covers the critical techniques for the most common assaults and six hours where the student will go into the club and review the basic techniques. The student may set their own time schedule to complete this phase of training. The techniques at this level are: the psycho-dynamics skills "turning fear into a weapon", "how to avoid confrontation", "verbal defensive skills" and "psyching out your assailant". The student will receive a special cassette tape for building Self Confidence. The physical training covers the ability to escape from single and double arm grabs and chokes, grabs of the shoulder and lapels, two kicks, spontaneous blocks from grabs or strikes, reaction to car-jacking or assaults in a car or home and four effective strikes. Introducing the basic concepts for speed and power will be presented. The student will train against a live partner as well as specialized electronic devices and rubber covered dummies.

The Intermediate requires 14 hours of classroom and club training. It expands from the basics, adding escapes from grabs from behind, four joint locks for submission control, three pressure point strikes, two knife escapes as well as how to escape from from being held down, plus refining the basic techniques. Explosive speed will be taught. Along with the Confidence tape a special Relaxation tape will be given at this level. Eight hours of class training as well as a six hour requirement to do follow-up training at the club. Any class can be scheduled to fit the group. A basic schedule would be two four hour classes for intense training and the six hours of club training at the students convenience.

The Advanced is 18 hours and builds from the basics and intermediate. This course will add additional non-abusive submission techniques for come-a-longs, two throws, two more knife escapes, two gun escapes and one club counter. Emphasis will be placed on developing quick explosive speed and dynamic power. Ten hours of class study and eight hours of additional training is given to refine applied skills. A special sleep cassette tape will be added to the Confidence and Relaxation tapes. Suggested class time. One four hour and two six hour sessions as well as the basic follow-up training for 8 hours.

The cost for training will depend on the level taught, where it is taught (at the club or their business) and the size of the class. To maximize learning there should be no more than 12 students in one class.
